All of our adult support groups meet monthly in Room 10 of the Elburn & Countryside Community Center at 525 N. Main Street in Elburn. License social workers facilitate these sessions at no cost to participants. Please contact Executive Director, Jennifer Long to register in advance at 630-365-2880.
Grieving with Hope is a general support group for adults grieving any type of death loss. It meets at 7pm on the 4th Thursday of the month, except in November and December when it meets on the 3rd Thursday.
Yesterday, Today, and, Tomorrow is a grief group for adults further along in their bereavement journey and looking more for socialization than acute support. The curriculum is based of a bibliotherapy model and operates as grief book club. This group meets monthly on the second Thursday of the month and in six month sessions.
Life After Loss: Young Widows Support Group (55 and Under) is offered for those who have lost a spouse in the earlier to mid stages of life and therefore may be facing different challenges in regards to family or lifestyle. The group meets monthly on the third Thursday of the month.
Please note additional services such as Grief consultation sessions to determine readiness for support group participation or the need for individual counseling from one of our partner agencies is also available.
